Writer Sonia Arias revealed her new book "La Mariposa de Playa Larga" (The Butterfly of Playa Larga), an unauthorized novel-styled biography of singer Jenni Rivera who died in a tragic plane crash in December, 2009, today.
"Jenni's family knows about the existence of this book because I contacted "doña Rosita" (Jenni's mother) by phone and explained that I don't want to make any money out of this book," explained Arias in an interview with TV show "El Gordo y la Flaca."
The writer expressed Jenni's mother her desire to share 50 percent of the royalties, in addition to signing an agreement in which it is established that one of the objectives of the text is to preserve the memory of the interpreter.

She also denied any retaliation from the Rivera family.
"I've been very honest with them. I told Rosie (Jenni's sister) from the beginning that I was writing a book."
However, the author and the Riveras have not met in person, therefore, no agreement has been made between them.
Another important aspect of the publication is that it is prefaced with imaginary dialogues between Jenni and her crew moments before their plane collapsed. The author thinks this is going to be one controversial chapter because it is hard to imagine if the crew actually knew that something was wrong with the aircraft before it crashed.
Also, Arias added that she would love it if "La Mariposa de Playa Larga" would be adapted into a soap, and she is hopeful of a reunion with La Diva de la Banda's family so she can give them the money she promised and explain to them her plan of maintaining Jenni's legacy.
