On Dec. 3 a tribute album for the late Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera was released. The album titled "1969-Siempre (Part 1) En Vivo Desde Monterrey" contains 18 songs performed live by Rivera. The Rivera family has spent the last year working on the tribute to Jenni using video and audio from the last concert the singer performed before her tragic death. The album is a CD DVD combo with a five video DVD set. Tracks included on the album are "Que Me Entierren Con La Banda, "Rosita Alvires," "Clave Privada" and "El Moreno."
"For our family, it's a pleasure sharing this treasure with fans of our mother, daughter and sister," the singer's sister Rosie Rivera said in a statement issued in November. "This effort has brought us tears and made us proud and now it gives us happiness to continue with the company that worked with Jenni in other large projects. In honor and tradition to what Jenni Rivera is, we remain loyal to those whom have been loyal to her." On Dec. 9 a concert will be held in Mexico to mark the one year anniversary of the singer's death.
Fans and celebrities Tito el Bambino and Marisela will come out to celebrate the life of Jenni Rivera with music and a tribute to her life. Rivera's final performance held at Arena Monterrey would come only hours before the singer boarded a small aircraft that crashed minutes after taking off on Dec. 9, 2012. Those who knew and loved Jenni Rivera either personally or by listening to her music were devastated to learn of the singer's untimely passing. At Monday's concert Rivera's eldest daughter, Chiquis will take to the stage and perform some of her mother's songs.
