Hollywood actor Jason Momoa was reportedly involved in a head-on crash with a motorcyclist on a Los Angeles-area highway on Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the "Game of Thrones" star was driving along Old Topanga Road in Calabasas, California, just before 11:00 a.m. on Sunday when a 21-year-old man, identified as Vitaliy Avagimyan, riding a motorcycle crossed the center line and smashed head-on into his 1970 Oldsmobile. Authorities said Momoa got out of his car to help the motorcyclist and flagged down a passing driver to get aid and to call 911.
California Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist hit the left front side of Momoa's car and was ejected from the motorcycle. Momoa, 42, immediately got out of his car to go and help the motorcyclist. California Highway Patrol confirmed that Momoa did not sustain any injuries. "Mr. Avagimyan and his motorcycle collided with the left front of Mr. Momoa's vehicle. As a result of this collision, Mr. Avagimyan was ejected from his motorcycle," the press release reads. "After the collision, Mr. Momoa exited his vehicle to assisted Mr. Avagimyan and was able to flag down passing motorist to call 9-1-1."
TMZ has obtained video of the crash that shows Momoa walking back to his car as paramedics tend to the motorcyclist behind him. The footage also features the bike and gear on the side of the road. Fortunately, according to TMZ sources, the rider could land on his feet, but not before bouncing off Momoa's windshield, clearing the hood of his car to end up on the other side. The rider was left standing up after the collision. The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital for minor, non-life threatening injuries, including leg bruises and a thumb injury.
Momoa is an avid motorcyclist, he previously listed Harley-Davidson bikes as one of the 10 things he could not live without. He stars in the new "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," which is scheduled to release in March 2023. He has also landed a role in "Fast X," the 10th movie in the "Fast & Furious" franchise that is also set for a 2023 release.
