Who knew that the name Jason Momoa and the movie 'Los Frikis, a film about Cuba during the Special Period and a colony of AIDS patients. would belong in the same sentence? Nobody until this May 2024? However, love works in mysterious ways, and it's clear that the romance between the American actor and Latina actress Adria Arjona is going full steam ahead.

With the post, Momoa had made public what had already been an open secret: the 'Aquaman' actor is now possibly Ricardo Arjona's future son-in-law — yes, very weird, but stranger things have happened in life. Not that it's hard to believe Jason would fall in love with Adria, who is a queen, but because these are worlds that no one would have thought would collide. Well, no one except them.

Indeed, the actor confirmed his romance with our Boricua-Guatemalan princess through photos from a trip to Japan, enthusiastically sharing the news.

Jason Momoa and Adria Arjona

As curious minds began to wonder if the lovebirds were still together, Momoa once again posted a video on Instagram, responding to the speculation with a resounding "of course" and a sweet "Mi amor" (in Spanish) directed at Adria, along with a message of support for her powerful, moving, and wonderful film.

Adria Arjona not only acted in 'Los Frikis,' but with it, fulfilled her dream of becoming a producer. The film has been making the rounds at major film festivals across the U.S., winning several awards, including the top prize at the Miami Film Festival—deservedly so.

In his message, Momoa manages to cover several bases: he promotes his band ÖOF TATATÁ and their tour "AOTEAROA," his vodka brand Meili, and the film *Los Frikis*.

"Also please go check out ['Los Frikis] trailer on YouTube," he writes, noting that it's linked in his bio. "This movie truly blew my mind. It comes out this Xmas." And for his beloved, he adds:

"[Adria] I am so proud of you mi amor producing your first movie I love this movie it is true cinema."

'Los Frikis'

In 'Los Frikis,' Adria plays a woman in charge of an area in Cuba in the 1990s where people infected with HIV were being kept. The hunger during that period was so extreme that some people deliberately injected themselves with the HIV virus to be confined there, as the patients received three meals a day.

It's a painful story, but told with the unique power we Latinos have to laugh at our tragedies and find tenderness amidst the terrible. Momoa is right—it's a great film and the next project we'll see Adria in before she returns to "a galaxy far, far away" in 'Star Wars: Andor''s second season alongside Diego Luna in 2025.

Of course, we're all hopeful that the couple will appear on the red carpet at the movie's premiere or in a sweet Thanksgiving or Christmas photo with the Arjona family.
