Jason Derulo lashed out at Instagram for “unjustly” taking down his now-viral steamy underwear photo in Bali, which showed off his killer abs, biceps, toned thighs and bulging manhood under a pair of black crotch-hugging boxers.
The singer and hitmaker took to Instagram to share a screenshot of the warning he received from the company, which claimed that the photo breached their “nudity and sexual activity” guidelines as it showed off his “aroused genitalia.” Alongside the screenshot was the photo taken down by the network, which he defiantly re-uploaded to slam Instagram.
“F**k u mean? I have underwear on… I can’t help my size. #bringbackAnaconda,” an obviously fuming Derulo wrote in the caption, referencing to one of the largest snakes in the world. Throwing cold water on Instagram’s theory, Derulo said he was not at all aroused in the photo. Instead, he was only “semi-aroused,” as he had just come out of the pool when the photo was taken.
According to Derulo, anyone who has basic knowledge of the male anatomy could support his claim. Following the controversy, the hitmaker caught up with TMZ and talked about the Instagram issue. Explaining his side, Derulo gave a mini-lesson on erections, saying that if he was erect as Instagram had claimed, it would have “leaned more to the front.”
“If it’s just on the side, and it’s just chilling on the side, it’s a semi,” he explained. “An arousal looks different. It’s a different vibe. When it’s fully aroused, it’s a different beast,” he added.
He also accused Instagram of double-standard. “All these girls be on Instagram showing the a** and all kinda crazy s**t, and I got underwear on Bali, and they took my pic down,” he said. “That’s discrimination,” he added.
Towards the end of his interview, Jason Derulo demanded equality from Instagram, asking the company to stop discriminating him for his “natural blessings.” There have also been cries for “Justice for Jason” on social media, but in a tongue-and-cheek way.
