It wasn't much of a surprise considering Jane Lynch, star of "Glee," made it clear last month that her marriage with Lara Embry had long been over. Lynch filed for divorce Friday at Los Angeles County Court, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce, the Daily Mail reported. The couple had been married for three years after meeting back in 2009 at a fundraiser and getting married in May of the following year in Massachusetts.
Lynch, 52, has reported asked to terminate the court's jurisdiction to include spousal support. Sources close to the couple have said the two don't have a prenuptual agreement. Lynch also became the stepmother to Embry's, 44, daughter from a previous marriage when the two wed. Lynch wrote in a statement to People Magazine that the two agreed to split in spite of caring for one another and requested privacy in handling the matter.
"Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter," Lynch wrote.
