The expression on Gandolfini's face looks as though he was in the middle of saying something when the photo was taken. With the exception of a slightly red face there is nothing in the photo that would suggest the actor who played one of the most talked about TV characters in history was going to pass away that night.
Tony Soprano was James Gandolfini's break out role. Following the success of "The Sopranos" Gandolfini would never have to audition for a role again. His success on "The Sopranos" meant he would have movie scripts sent to his house and characters written specifically with him in mind.
