After first announcing that Apple would be updating iWork for iCloud back in June at WWDC the company has been rolling out the beta to developers before the actual release this fall. Apple has apparently decided to open the iWork for iCloud beta to all registered users with an Apple ID. The Apple iWork for iCloud beta contains full access to in-browser versions of Apple's iWork software suite, including Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, in addition to existing iCloud services.

When iWork for iCloud was revealed at WWDC many speculated that Apple would its other iWork suite of apps on iOS and Mac available for free. 9to5Mac makes a good point about making the other iWork apps free when they said, "It's hard to imagine Apple allowing users to create documents for free on iCloud but not seamlessly transfer from iOS to Mac without having to throw down $30 for the three iOS apps." Adding more weight to the rumor is the leaked images of iWork suites alongside the collection of free Apple apps when launching the Apple App Store for the first time.

Apple previously stated that they would be releasing a public iWork for iCloud beta in the fall but maybe this early release is to help with beta testing among a larger group of users.

Apple is reportedly expected to make announcements for new iPhone and iPad at a press event September 10. And now maybe there is a possibility we'll hear more about iWork for iCloud alongside details for Mavericks and possibly the new Mac Pro.
