6. Uruguay
Led by one of the top scorers in the Premier League and a Ligue 1 phenom, Uruguay is certainly capable of putting together another solid run at the World Cup. Finishing fourth at the previous South Africa Games, Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani pace a Uruguayan national team that possesses loads of firepower. If Suarez gets hot, it could spell trouble for the opponent, while propelling Uruguay further into the event. Reuters

Keep your eyes glued here as we bring you all the latest live updates, images, scores, highlights and coverage of the 2014 World Cup Group D deciding match between Italy and Uruguay:

FINAL: Uruguay-Italy 1-0. Uruguay go through after a late goal from Diego Godin. It was a game that was surrounded by controversy and the Italians are out of the World Cup. In what was a rather boring game, but Uruguay go through to the Round of 16 and will probably face Colombia. It will be the last time that we see Andrea Pirlo and Gigi Buffon wear the jersey of the Azzurri in a World Cup. Stay tuned for recap and analysis which can all be seen here at LatinTimes.com. Thanks for joining us, we hope to see you soon.

90'-Five minutes of extra time for the Italians to salvage something.

If Italy go out here, it will be the first time since 1966 that they will have gone out in the group stage in two consecutive World Cups. How's that for a stat?

The two coaching staffs are now having words with each other as one of the Italian coaches has been sent to the dressing room.

80'-GOALLLLL for Uruguay as Diego Godin headers home the corner. This could be the end of Italy. 1-0 Uruguay.

79'-Chiellini and Suarez scuffle in the box. It looks like Suarez tried to bite Chiellini. On replay it looks like he did try to bite him.

75'-Thiago Motta comes on for Marco Verratti.

70'-Italian substitution as Antonio Cassano comes on for Ciro Immobile.

The game is finally beginning to liven up as Uruguay begins to push men forward. Italy will try to counter when they can but as is the Italian way, defense comes first.

65'- Suarez nearly puts Uruguay in the lead as his shot from ten yards out is brilliantly saved by Gigi Buffon. So much class from one of the best keepers of all time to keep Italy in the game.

The Italians will surely now sit 10 men behind the ball at all times. It was a stupid challenge from Marchisio. A player of that experience and quality needs to know better. We will have a shot of the tackle up for you ASAP.

59'-WOW WOW WOW, straight red card for Marchisio. The Italian players are furious as they surround the referee. On the replay you can't fault the ref, it was a deserved sending off.

58'- Uruguay have the biggest chance of the game as C. Rodriguez runs through on a beautiful ball from Suarez, only to shoot the ball wide of Buffon's goal.

52'- Suarez has a free kick from 40+ out, but instead of putting a ball into the area, he blasts it about 30 yards over Buffon's goal. He has been rather absent in the game so far, but what makes him dangerous is the fact that he can pop out of nowhere and score a game winner.

Substitutions: Marco Parolo comes on in favor of Mario Balotelli (ITA) Maximiliano Pereira comes on for Nicolas Lodeiro (URU)

HALF-After forty-five minutes the score remains 0-0. It was by far one of the most underwhelming halves of soccer thus far in the tournament. Neither team wanted to lose the game in the first half, but both will surely be coming out in the second trying to find a winner. Stay tuned as we will bring you all the second half action in fifteen minutes time.

45'+1-Corner results in nothing special as Chiellini is fouled inside his own box.

45'-One final free kick from 40+ yards out from Suarez results in a Uruguayan corner. It was a good ball from Suarez that was swinging in towards Buffon's goal, but the Italian defense did well to get a head to it.

38'-Uruguay have now have tried twice to beat Buffon from their own half. Guess it summarizes their half of soccer. Very questionable as to what their mindset is at the moment.

32'-Luis Suarez has the first real chance for Uruguay but Buffon does well to stop his cross after he gets behind the Italian back line. Uruguay could very well have gone into the lead there.

30'- Neither team is looking overly dangerous thus far. Italy has had some chances to make something out of their attacks but the final ball has been sloppy. This game is going to come down to who makes the first mistake.

Rings true!

22'- Mario Balotelli receives the first yellow of the game, which also means that if Italy advance, he will be suspended in the Round of 16.

Through twenty minutes the score remains 0-0. This score line would see Italy through to the next round. It is a rather surprising start as both teams are playing for their World Cup lives. I'd expect the pace of the game to pick up soon.

12'- Andrea Pirlo has a go off a free kick from about 40-yards out. Muslera can only punch it over the bar for a goal kick. The man is a wizard on the pitch. Sad thought to think that this could be his last ever game for the Italian National Team.

It is the Italian goalkeeper's 142nd cap. He has now been at 4 different World Cups. He is a living legend.

7'-First free kick comes in Uruguay's favor, but Gigi Buffon does well to punch out. 0-0 after the first eight minutes.
