Irán Castillo is one of Mexico's most beloved actresses and grew up acting in telenovelas. From "Agujetas de Color de Rosa," "Confidente De Secundaria" to "Soñadoras" and "Clase 406," Irán had been away from melodramas. Castillo recently made her comeback to television with "Bailando Por Un Sueño" where she placed third, beat out by Karenka and María León. With her return to the small screen she was soon recruited by producer Pedro Damián to star in a remake of "Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse." In this production she would've played a villain opposite Livia Brito ("De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero") and José Ron ("La Mujer Del Vendaval"). Irán had worked with Damián on multiple occasions before like "Preciosa" but after she had been confirmed she had a change of heart and wanted more time to rest after the strenuous work rhythm on the dance competition.
"I have a couple of problems from gastritis, colitis... because I have been very stressed due to 'Bailando Por Un Sueño,'" Pedro Damián said about what Irán told him. "The truth is my doctors have recommended that I maintain myself calm and right now I am work in theatre and making music and promoting my album." Due to Irán's health concerns, she was forced to pull out of the cast. However, the producer said that she was not contemplated for a role in this new production, although it was wildly speculated she would have played the antagonist. "She is an extraordinary actress, she is a great friend," Damián said of Irán. "She is a person that I love personally, but I never thought of a role for her because I felt she was not fitting for any of the characters within the story."
