Despite his prolific television career, Campos also left a significant mark in theater and Mexican series, showing his commitment to acting in all its forms. Off-screen, however, Arsenio was far from the stereotypical telenovela star. Those who knew him described him as humble, kind, and deeply passionate about personal growth.
An iconic actor and more
Since 1996, the actor settled in Saltillo, Coahuila, where he dedicated himself to more than just acting. In 2019, he gave a creative writing course titled 'Cuentos para Expresar tu Interior,' where he helped participants explore their emotions through storytelling. His passion for helping others also led him to the world of physical therapy, where he opened a practice to offer rehabilitation treatments, a discipline he had studied for over 15 years.
Campos was also open about his struggles with alcoholism, a topic he spoke about in a candid 2014 interview with La Prensa. "Yes, I had problems," he confessed. "But the love of those around you helps you change. You can't involve them in your own chaos." He credited his family and faith as the pillars that supported his recovery. From that experience, he later led workshops for families dealing with addiction, giving back with the wisdom he had gained.
Beyond the screen, Arsenio was a family man. He married María Teresa Santoscoy, a native of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, and together they raised two children, Arsenio Jr. and Alexandra, who now resides in Saltillo.
In the same 2014 interview, he shared his love for health, craftsmanship, and the arts. "I wake up at 5 a.m., study medicine, carve wood, paint, take photos — all in my own style," he said, showing a side of himself rarely seen by his fans.
The cause of his death has not been disclosed, but tributes have flooded social media, remembering the actor not only for his iconic roles but for his human warmth and generosity. His daughter Alexandra posted a video compilation, accompanied by a heartfelt message, honoring her father's memory and legacy.
Arsenio Campos leaves behind a lasting imprint on Mexican entertainment and the many hearts he touched throughout his life. His contributions, both on-screen and off, will be remembered by generations of fans and loved ones.
