It seems as though everyday there is a new bout of rumors surrounding the release of the iPhone 6 and the features the next generation smart-phone will have. The latest rumor surrounding the iPhone 6 stems from a patent application filed by Apple, published by the U.S Patent and Trademark Office, which was picked up by Apple Insider. According to the website and the patent the title of the application is “Voice-Based Image Tagging and Searching.” This new feature will let users sort and tag photos using only their voice on the iPhone 6.
Apple Insider gave an example as to how the feature would work. The user tells the phone “this is me at the beach,” and the phone will tag the corresponding photo accordingly. According to Apple Insider the new feature could also automatically tag photos based on the location and time they were taken. The new system may also be able to recognize faces, buildings and locations and tag each as part of its automatic system. Once the photos are tagged users can then search for specific photos using their voice.
Other iPhone 6 rumors include an improvement to the vocal aid feature Siri. With the updated operating system iOS 7 Siri already received an update but issues with the system were still apparent. The new phone is said to be equipped with a better Siri that will give users more accurate answers to their search questions. Other feature rumors suggest the iPhone 6 will have a larger screen and a wrap around display. A better camera and improved battery life are also rumored. While conflicting rumors are debating over the exact release date Apple users are expecting a 2014 release.
