According to a report from The Korea Herald Apple’s next-generation iPhone will reportedly gain a bezel-free display when it launches later this year. The article gave no significant details about Apple’s plans for the upcoming iPhone 6 mostly because it talked more about the Samsung Galaxy S5. The sentenced that did mention Apple’s upcoming smartphone did say Apple is working on similar prototype with a bezel-free display and fingerprint sensor.
The article also notes that Samsung will be using a standard fingerprint sensor rather than the display wide sensor or iris scanner that was previously rumored for the upcoming device. While the design of the iPhone 6 change with every rumor it could be that this one aspect is indeed true. Last November, Bloomberg reported the IPhone 6 was to have a larger display and have a curve design similar to LG’s G Flex smartphone. While The Wall Street Journal contradicted that report saying the device won’t include a curved display.
No details or an official release date for the iPhone 6 has yet to be revealed by Apple but many speculations have been made. While it is believed the next iPhone will be arriving at WWDC (Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference) others believe it will follow the company’s trend and arrive this fall, either September of October. Analyst have gone back and forth on the release date but nothing is certain as until Apple speaks up and reveals the official details.
