According to Mac Otakara Apple’s rumored and highly-anticipated iPhone 6 is said to be a variation of the iPhone 5c. MacRumors reports that the new device would be actually be an expansion of Apple’s latest iPhone lineup rather than replacing the current iPhone 5s and 5c. Mac Otakara claims a source says Apple has decided on a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch display as potential candidates for new iPhone devices that are suppose to launch near the end of 2014.

This next-generation iPhone is said to keep the basic design of the iPhone 5c. Keeping with the rounded edges, buttons, speakers and microphone placement with inspiration from the seventh generation iPod nano according to MacRumors. The new iPod nano comes in a range of colors like the iPhone 5c, but unlike that device the iPod comes with an anodized aluminum design instead of the plastic polycarbonate shell on the 5c.

Other design features say the 4.7-inch iPhone will measure at 14x7 cm, while the 5.7-inch model will be larger with dimensions of 16x8 cm. It is possible both models will be 7 mm thick with a protruding rear camera as seen on the current iPod touch models, although the report indicates that the final version of the iPhone could be expanded to 7.5 mm thick to match the thickness of the camera module. Which makes more sense seeing how Apple has never strayed too far from its iPhone design atheistic.

Rumors about the iPhone 6 have been all over the place with reports saying the device will adopt a “bezel-free” display and a 10-megapixel camera with improved filters. Of course none of this news is set in stone as Apple has yet to confirm anything regarding the iPhone 6.
