With just a couple of months to go before the Samsung Galaxy S11 release date arrives, fans are definitely excited to get their hands on the brand’s newest flagship. But even Apple fans might even be tempted to switch brands based on the leaked features and specs of the upcoming phone floating around the net.
Samsung Galaxy S11 Might Be Faster Than iPhone 11 Pro
Apple’s current high-end smartphone, the iPhone 11 Pro, is the best the American brand has to offer at the moment, Naturally, it is packed with cool feature and its specs are indeed top-of-the-line.
But the upcoming Galaxy S11 might beat the Apple phone in one area. The Korean brand’s next flagship will be faster than the iPhone 11 Pro when it comes to performing complex tasks, according to Tech Radar.
In some countries where Samsung does not use its own Exynos chipset such as the United States, the Galaxy S11 will likely use the Snapdragon 865. The publication then compared the Snapdragon 865 benchmark results to that of the A13 Bonic chipset, which the iPhone 11 Pro uses.
The Snapdragon 865 has a multi-core score of 3,450 compared to A13 Bionic chipset's multi-core score of 3,337. Larger tasks that can be broken down such as image processing, video rendering, and 3D gaming will be processed faster the higher the multicore score is.
On the other hand, Snapdragon 865 only got a single-core score of 931 while the iPhone 11 Pro Max’ single-core score is 1331. A single-core compute score is used as a gauge of how fast the device will perform simple tasks or those apps whose processes can't be broken down into multiple parts.
The conclusion is that while the Galaxy S11 is a bit slower than the iPhone 11 Pro when performing simple tasks, it still outpaces the latter when it comes to complex tasks such as gaming or image manipulations. It is also important to note that app developers are starting to spread the workload of their applications into multiple cores which could make the single-core advantage of the iPhone become less important in the future.
Specs Comparison
The Galaxy S11 will also have the upper hand when it comes to the size of its RAM. It will feature 8 GB of RAM compared to iPhone 11 Pro’s RAM of 4 GB, according to PhoneArena.
The upcoming Samsung flagship will also have an advantage when it comes to battery capacity. It will feature a 4300 mAh while the iPhone 11 Pro’s battery can only hold up to 3046 mAh. However, the iPhone 11 Pro has the added convenience of wireless charging.
The Galaxy S11 also comes out the winner when it comes to internal storage. Samsung’s future flagship will have a massive 256 GB of storage capacity compared to iPhone 11 Pro’s 64 GB.
Of course, Apple’s next flagship is also in the works. A more interesting comparison would be between the iPhone 12, which is expected to be out by September 2020, and the Galaxy S11, which will be out early next year.
