Apple's rumored super-sized iPad dubbed the "iPad Pro" is said to launch early next year. The device is rumored to tote a gigantic 12.9-inch display and with Apple's trend the tablet will be sporting a thin design. The news comes from Bloomberg who cite "people with knowledge of the matter."
The site reports that Apple suppliers are allegedly getting ready to build components for the larger device, with production scheduled to begin at the beginning of next year. The tablet has been said to be sold alongside Apple's upcoming 9.7-inch next-generation iPad Air and 7.9-inch iPad mini.
It's about time Apple catches up seeing how other tech companies already have huge tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro and Galaxy Note Pro both measuring 12.2-inches. Lets not forget the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with a 12-inch display.
But will a larger screen prompt more customers to buy Apple's larger device? According to International Data Corporation the demand for tablets is dropping with consumers and many are holding on to their current devices a lot longer. With Apple introducing a brand new model more people may be inclined to upgrade to a bigger screen. But then again if the screen is the only difference then maybe not.
The device is set to be revealed next month at Apple's media event. The iPad will be announced alongside the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Sept. 9.
