A video that went viral on TikTok documented instant karma in action. A boat full of homophobic people seemed to get punished by the cosmic forces as they were left with a flaming boat. The person who recorded the video shared that the boaters had been harassing their family for flying a Pride Flag.
While the world observes Pride Month in June, a group of people was not willing to celebrate the spirit of acceptance. A video shared by Twitter handle @retro_ushi showed two men and a woman on a mission to humiliate the family for their LGBTQ Pride Flag. The user, identified by their nickname Robbie, shared that he was out on Moses Lake, Grant County, Washington with his family on Sunday, May 30.
He said that he heard the other boaters hurtling homophobic abuses at them. One of the boaters was seen sticking out their middle fingers at the family. Robbie said that the boat circled them six to seven times. It caused extensive waves that made the family’s boat sway unsafely. Robbie asked his brother to start recording the incident to prevent the situation from getting worse.
After causing the disruption the group sped away. USA Today reported that the boat left a trail of smoke behind. It soon caught fire after a loud bang. Even though they had just been harassed by the group, Robbie’s family approached the flaming boat to help the group.
According to Komo News, Robbie’s family helped the stranded boaters out of the water.
Sharing further details of the incident on Twitter, Robbie wrote that one of the men started vaping after getting on the boat. The woman kept shouting in panic. The other man just sat at the back of the boat quietly. The family alerted Grant County Sheriff's Office around 3:00 p.m. The rescued boaters also called their friends to come to pick them up.
Eventually, the three left the family without thanking them or apologizing to them. Grant County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the incident. The boaters admitted to circling the family. Robbie’s family did not press any charges for the harassment they faced. They continued to be kind to the strangers, who a lot of people on the internet, did not believe deserved the kindness. Robbie said that he shared the video and details of the incident to deter homophobic people.
