The Indian and Chinese armies continue to remain in a bitter standoff along with the disputed parts of Eastern Ladakh. They were recently moving in heavy equipment and weaponry to their bases very close to the disputed land.

The Indian and Chinese troops have been maintaining a standoff situation across the border for almost the last month. The induction of heavy weapons at such a high altitude is an example of the brewing conflict.

As per reports, the heavy weaponry moved in by Indian and Chinese soldiers close to the border area includes combat vehicles and artillery guns. The upscaling of combat capability has been reported despite continuous efforts by the diplomats and military to resolve the dispute without dragging it further.

Several reports surfaced early last week that China has been gradually increasing its combat capability in its rear bases near the Line of Control (LOC) in Eastern Ladakh. The same activity has been reported at India’s end with the Indian army moving troops as well as heavy artillery to match up to the speed at which China is expanding its base.

The Indian Air Force has been conducting strict aerial surveillance of the disputed area. A number of Chinese troops entered the Indian side of the border and have been camping at the Pangong Tso and Galwan Valley since early May. The Indian troops have demanded them to leave immediately to maintain peace in the area.

Since then, the Chinese troops have also increased their presence in the two other sensitive areas known for on and off stand-offs between both the countries – Demchok and Daulat Beg Oldie.

Meanwhile, a video posted on social media led to a virtual war of words between the Chinese and Indian twitter warriors. The video shows pictures of violent clashes between the soldiers of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Indo-Tibetan border police (ITBP).

The Chinese and Indian troops can be seen armed with rods, sticks and stones on the northern bank of Pangong Tso. It also shows injured soldiers covered in blood on both sides.
