Is there anything that can sell anything quite like zombies? From movies and comic books to video games and TV shows, the zombie phenomenon continues to spread across mediums. Now, it turns out, zombies can also make quite a sensational marketing campaign too.
Hyundai is collaborating with The Walking Dead to celebrates the 100th issue of the wildly popular comic series. To be featured at San Diego's Comic-Con International from July 12, to 15th, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman will be working with Hyundai to create a unique Hyundai Elantra coupe and Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback.
The Elantra GT hatchback (above) receives a unique vinyl wrap featuring the cover of the 100th issue of the series. Illustrated by the talented artist Charlie Adlard, this GT hatchback will be given away to a lucky winner via the "Hyundai Elantra Undead" sweepstakes.
As for the Elantra coupe, Robert Kirkman will work closely with the special fabricators of Design Craft and create a bonkers "Hyundai Zombie Survival Machine."
Kirkman confessed his limited knowledge in cars and physical limitations, but when it comes down to knowledge on zombie survival, it's safe to say that Kirkman's knowledge in this field is second to none. He goes in depth: "A front-end custom zombie plow cow catcher with spikes, slatted armored window coverings, a roof hatch to allow passengers to shoot at walkers, an electric rear trunk to house weapons, all‐terrain/rally type tires, weapons storage compartments, a CB radio/PA system and more."
