An Indian man bit, abused and beat up his wife in a drunken state. The woman has lodged a complaint with Vastrapur police in Gujarat.
The 21-year-old woman, Nidhi Thakor of the Vastrapur area, stated in her complaint that she met Ranjit Thakor on social media, according to Times Now News. They fell in love with each other and married on Jan. 7 this year. Following her marriage, Nidhi started living with Ranjit at his house in Memnagar locality.
Nidhi said that she went to stay at her mother's house. Ranjit reached there with his friend, Dhaval Parekh, to take her back to his place. When Parekh was driving, Ranjit, who was allegedly drunk, started abusing Nidhi over a frivolous issue. Nidhi told him not to be abusive and remain calm. He didn't take it well.
Then Ranjit sat next to Nidhi who was sitting on the rear seat. He allegedly started hitting her, and when she tried to stop him, he bit her on the right hand. This caused her fingers to bleed. Later, she called the police. Ranjit gave her death threats and left.
In another incident in April, a 33-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her alcoholic husband in Hyderabad, India, reported New Indian Express. After getting heavily drunk, Ergamoni Mahender attacked his wife Ergamoni Saramma with an axe and killed her, according to couple’s childrens acount to the police.
They had been married for around 15 years. Mahender had alcohol addiction since he was married. Whenever his wife told him to quit drinking, he would beat her up. They had two children -- Jaswanth, 13, and Teja, 10.
On the night of the incident, Mahender came home heavily drunk. When Saramma raised an objection, he started hitting her. Their daughter Teja, who was sleeping next to Saramma, woke up and started crying. Mahender took her to another room where Jaswanth was sleeping and locked the door from outside.
The girl continued to cry and called for help. Then she saw Mahender killing Saramma with an axe. Teja woke her brother. Both of them saw their father leave.
A neighbour, Venkatamma, heard the children crying. When she reached their house, she found their mother dead. She informed other villagers and then called the police.
