Hunter Biden’s former business partner is standing by his earlier statement that Joe Biden knew about his family’s overseas dealings. In a tell-all interview on Tuesday, Tony Bobulinski detailed how he met Biden and how he knew that the former vice president was very much involved in his son and brother Jim Biden’s foreign business schemes.
Bobulinski said he first met Joe Biden in the lobby of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in May 2017, where he was to speak the following day at the Milken Conference. “Hunter and Jim and I are there, and Hunter gets up and talks to his father when he comes in,” he recalled. “He then brings Joe over and introduces me, saying he’s the one who’s helping us with the business we’re doing with the Chinese,” he added.
Bobulinski also claimed that Biden did not look surprised at the mention of “the business we’re doing with the Chinese,” so he assumed that he had already been briefed about it before their first conversation. According to him, Biden even wished him luck and told him to work hard, saying his son and brother trusted him emphatically.
Following Biden’s speech the following day, Bobulinski recalled being ushered backstage to greet the former vice president again. “Keep an eye on my son and brother and look out for my family,” Biden allegedly told him before they parted ways.
When Biden left, Bobulinski spent the next few hours listening to Jim Biden’s stories about their family’s other business dealings. He said at one point, he asked his business partner if the Bidens were not concerned that Joe Biden would run for president in 2020. “I said, ‘Jim, how are you guys doing this, this seems crazy?’ He looks at me and kind of chuckles and says, ‘plausible deniability,’” he said.
Bobulinski said he was certain that Joe Biden was deeply involved in the deals because he knew the only reason why he was there was that he was the one running their family business. “Why else would he even talk to me?” he said.
Joe Biden’s involvement in Hunter Biden’s attempts to cut deals in China based on their family brand is the most interesting controversy of the final week of the presidential campaign. The story, which surfaced just weeks before the Nov. 3 elections, is based on Tony Bobulinski’s claims that the Democratic presidential candidate has been lying about his name being unfairly pulled into his son’s Chinese negotiations, when he’s allegedly “the big guy” in their equity divisions.
