Prince Harry wanted to be a soldier ever since he was a young boy. But, when he finally got his chance there were challenges he had to face there that most of the others didn’t. A new book has revealed some of the problems the British royal had to overcome back then.
Royal expert Angela Levin has shared details about the struggles of Prince William in the book “Harry: Conversations with the Prince.” The author is not only an expert on the British royals, but more specifically she has written many books about the Duke of Sussex.
Prince Harry had to prepare himself both physically and mentally, and he knew it, Express reported. More than 80 percent of the fellow officer cadets were university graduates, which put them in a more advantageous position when compared to the royal.
As a twenty year old in the army, Prince Harry was younger than most of the others by a year or two. The others were not only more experienced, but their time at the university meant that they were more mature as well.
“As the course was aimed at graduates he was bound to struggle and he found it physically, emotionally and, what worried him most, academically challenging,” Levin said.
Prince Harry previously revealed that he tried to toughen himself up both physically and mentally with rugby coaching and getting some work experience in land management. The preparation must have come in handy because, apart from the physical expectations in the army, the royal had to write essays on subjects like military history and international relations, which is something that he didn’t particularly enjoy doing.
Prince Harry was promoted to cadet officer in the army. After his war experience in Afghanistan, he is now taking on the role of an advocate for social causes, and the role of a husband and a father.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been travelling extensively to spread awareness about social issues and to meet friends. They will be going to Rome soon to attend the wedding of Meghan Markle’s best friend Misha Nonoo, Page Six reported.
