Prince Harry and Prince William are rumored to be feuding at the moment. But it has also been revealed that their issues actually started when Princess Diana was still alive.

Ken Wharfe, Princess Diana’s former bodyguard, recounted an incident wherein the royal siblings got into a heated argument while they were traveling with their mom in the car. The Princess of Wales even got upset with her sons because they didn’t want to stop bickering.

The Duke of Sussex told his older brother that he didn’t care about what he does since he will never be king and will be able to do whatever he likes. Wharfe said that Prince Harry’s comment shocked him and the other adults who were also in the car.

“All the adults in the car looked at each other and thought, ‘Where the hell did that come from?’” Wharfe shared. “There was a sense that from a very young age, Harry thought he could do whatever he wanted, while his brother had to shoulder all the responsibility,” he added.

Growing up, it did seem as though Meghan Markle’s husband enjoyed more freedom when it comes to his choices and decisions. Prince William, on the other hand, was more bound by tradition because he is second in line to the throne.

But Princess Diana previously said that she tried her best to raise her two sons as equals even though their roles in the royal family are very different. During a conversation with her friend, the late royal said that this is something she had to do.

“Charles and I worked so hard to ensure both boys receive equal amounts of our time and love; others in the family seem to concentrate on William,” she said. As a kid, Prince Harry already saw how different his treatment was from the treatment that his brother received.

He used to complain to Prince Charles why the members of the royal family make such a big fuss about Prince William whenever they visit their great-grandmother, the Queen Mother. Prince Harry said it’s just not fair.
