Prince Charles’ wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, has won over Prince William and Prince Harry’s heart very early on when they started dating. Contrary to rumors, there’s no bad blood between the three royals even though Camilla had an affair with the future king while he was still married to Princess Diana.
While speaking with Fox News, “True Royalty TV” producer Juliet Rice said that there has been a historical misconception about the Duchess of Cornwall. But the truth is that she has been a great matriarch to the royal family.
“There’s been this historical misconception about Camilla because of the circumstances surrounding Prince Charles’ marriage to Princess Diana,” Rice said. “There’s a lot of misconceptions about what really went on there and throughout all that coverage, the ‘80s and beyond, she’s never said a word. We didn’t talk to her about that, but it was nice to see her as a human, a relatively normal human being,” she added.
According to the producer, Camilla and Prince Charles also have great fun together. And this is something that Prince Charles’ sons love about their stepmother. During a previous interview, Prince Harry said that she adores Camilla because she makes the future king happy.
“To be honest, she’s always been very close to me and William,” Prince Harry said in “Harry: A Biography of a Prince.” “She’s not a wicked stepmother. Look at the position she’s coming into. Don’t feel sorry for me and William, feel sorry for her,” he added.
Rice also said that Camilla is aware of all criticisms that have been thrown her way. But she has maintained a sense of calm because she knows that her husband’s sons get on really well with her.
“William and Harry adore her,” Rice added. “And her children get on extremely well with William and Harry.”
Prince Charles and Camilla have been married since 2005. But prior to their civil wedding ceremony, the two dated for years. Before Prince Charles met Princess Diana, he was already in a relationship with Camilla.
However, the couple had to go their separate ways when Prince Charles left London to take part in the Royal Navy. After he returned, Camilla was already married to Andrew Parker Bowles.
