How Jennifer Aniston Clapped Back At Angelina Jolie Over ‘Uncool’ Brad Pitt Remarks

When Brad Pitt left her for Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston kept mum about her marital woes. While she initially managed to take the high road after the split, Aniston couldn't help but say a word after Jolie graced an interview for a fashion magazine to drop details about her romance with her ex-husband.

Back in 2007, Aniston was already moving forward with life when Jolie made stinging comments about working with Pitt. Speaking with Vogue, Jolie revealed that when she first met Pitt, she understood that the actor was “with his best friend, someone he loves and respects.” Jolie then went on to reveal how she started to feel excited to go to work on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” because she was already starting to have feelings for Pitt.

Months after the interview, Aniston made an honest comment on Jolie’s statements. “There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening,” she said. “I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss. That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool,” she added.

Aniston said it was inappropriate for Jolie to publicly reveal her excitement to see Pitt on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” because she perfectly knew that Pitt was a married man then. The fact that something like that was already going on at that time between Jolie and her husband without her knowing was also a bitter pill to swallow for the “Friends” star.

It is common knowledge that Pitt and Jolie fell in love on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” At the time of their filming, Pitt and Aniston’s marriage was already on the rocks, so it was too easy for Pitt to be attracted to Jolie. After the project, Pitt left Aniston to pursue Jolie, and the rest is history.

Years after their breakup, Aniston revealed that she and Pitt had an amicable split and that she had already forgiven her ex for cheating on her. “We’ve exchanged a few very kind hellos … and congratulations on your babies,” Aniston said. “We had an amicable split. The marriage didn’t work out,” she added.
