If there’s one thing that people probably remember Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux for, it’s their nontraditional honeymoon. Aside from the fact that it was overly expensive, it was also nontraditional as it was a luxurious group vacation joined by some of their closest friends.
Jennifer Aniston may have been hurt after her split from Pitt, but she met Theroux years later, and everything just changed for the better. But although Aniston and Theorux’s marriage was brief, they had quite an interesting relationship.
From their wedding to their honeymoon, Aniston and Theroux made sure that everything would turn out unique. After pulling off a secret wedding ceremony by making their friends believe that they were to attend Theroux’s 44th birthday party, Aniston and Theroux brought along their pals for a group trip, which, to everyone’s surprise, would serve as their honeymoon.
Among those who joined their celebration of love were Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman and Courteney Cox. Together with the newlyweds, they took a trip to the Four Seasons in Bora Bora, where they stayed for a solid week and spent approximately $28,000 to $84,000 for their villas alone.
In an interview following their honeymoon, Theroux explained that both he and Aniston wanted their friends to join them. “It was a fantastic honeymoon,” he said. “We had thought about it, we could just do a normal honeymoon, or we could go with some friends, keep the party going, relax, and have fun. It was really special, it was really beautiful.”
Aniston and Theroux first met in 2007, when Aniston’s good friend Ben Stiller introduced her to the film producer. At that time, Stiller was doing a collaboration with Stiller on the movie “Tropic Thunder."
Aniston admitted that he was not attracted to Theroux at first. Instead, she was a little intimidated by his style. “I thought he was very sweet and he was always very nice,” said Aniston. “But I remember thinking he was very dark. At first, you think he could be like a serial killer, but he is actually the nicest person in the world,” she added.
