"How I Met Your Mother" season nine is almost upon us and CBS has released the first trailer to build anticipation for the final episodes of the hit-comedy. Fans should be prepared for the final slap, the final high five. The final season. As the season premiere on September 23 approaches more information about the last season is being released. A recent BuzzFeed article about Cristin Milloti who portrays "The Mother" and the recently released teaser trailer from CBS gives fans a small glimpse of how the next season will play out.
The trailer features the five main cast members holding golden umbrellas which should be familiar to fans who's followed the show. We also see small bits of dialogue, like Marshall declaring he's going to ruin this wedding and Barney telling Ted "Robin's marrying me, not you." Seems harsh but seeing Ted's actions last season that is a valid declaration.
One particular moment will definitely catch fans attention: another slap is coming. It would only be appropriate to have another slap and given the show's tendency for fantastic continuity and call backs it was bound to happen. According to Slap Bet's web site another slap will be given in 77 days, November 19, perhaps another Slapsgiving episode?
Season 9 will be told within the weekend of Robin and Barney's wedding, giving viewers much speculation about how the show will do justice to the previous eight season of introducing the mother. It wouldn't be a surprise if an event that happens that weekend triggers a story that happens after that weekend, but still in the past... If that makes any sense.
Are you excited for the ninth and final season of "How I Met Your Mother?"
