Disney Plus has been released on Nov. 12 and as it enters the streaming game arena, experts already saw its big potential to rule over the other big streaming sites like Netflix, Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video. It debuted with a lineup of original programming coming from its big-budget franchises that include Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic and Disney.

According to CNET, the launching of Disney Plus was not very smooth as there were reported glitches and service outages. But nevertheless, the launch day was a big success because the newest streaming site gained a lot of signups on its first day in the business alone. It was said that they recorded around 10 million subscribers the next day after its debut.

This is such an amazing feat as it was mentioned that it took almost three years for HBO to gain around five million subscribers. With its impressive opening, it was predicted that it will not be long when Disney Plus will take over the lead in the streaming business, and effectively beating its rivals such as Netflix, the biggest streaming site today. Here are the reasons why the other streaming sites are doomed with the entrance of Disney Plus in the game.

The Content

As mentioned earlier, Disney has many original movies under its belt and it was made better by the fact that the company has control over various major studios like Pixar, Marvel and more. As if this is not enough, the company also purchased a big part of Fox Studios so its subscribers can enjoy additional great shows all year round.

The Platforms

Netflix subscribers can watch the shows on different platforms including TV, computer and tablet but Disney Plus will offer more service so people will have more options. It was said that the company is considering making it available on other devices like the Nintendo Switch which its rivals never even considered before.

The Price

Lastly, the final thing that will push Disney Plus to the top and send its rivals spiraling down is its subscription rates. With its $6.99 a month commercial-free service, this is an unbeatable price offer. Netflix charges $13 which is almost twice as much of the Disney Plus rate.

Indiewire reported that Richard Broughton, Ampere Analysis research director, stated that Disney’s rate is particularly appealing to viewers belonging to the 18 to 24-year-old demographic bracket, and this will likely contribute to attracting the interest of more consumers thus Disney Plus can get more registrants in no time.
