Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and many of us are getting ready for this fabulous celebration. Although Latin America doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving, chances are most Latinos living in the United States will. It may not be a part of our heritage and culture, but we don't need an excuse to get together with our family, give thanks for the year that's ending and share an amazing meal.
We also like to give a little twist to make it our own, and this time is no different. We have an amazing stuffing recipe for your turkey especially for meat lovers. It comes straight out of the kitchen of our good friend Lydia Sánchez Fernández. This recipe will definitely spice up your turkey and make you stand out on this holiday season. Check it out below!
- Ingredients:
2 lbs. of ground beef
2 lbs. of ground pork
1 can of olives
1 jar of capers
1 can of tomato paste
1 cup of chopped walnuts
1/2 cup of sliced almonds
1/2 chopped onion
1 cup of raisins
1 pack of bacon
1/2 cup of white wine - Directions:
Fry the bacon. Add the ground beef and pork. Once they look like they're almost ready, mix in the chopped onion and the white wine. Mix everything well until the wine dries out. Add the nuts, olives, capers, almonds and raisins and mix well. Lastly, add the tomato paste. Stir for five minutes and now it's ready to go inside the turkey. - Tip for the turkey: To make your bird even juicier, you should get a food syringe and inject half a pound of butter, a liter of orange juice, salt and white wine (as much as you want) to the turkey before putting it in the oven.
