“Annabelle 3” finally dropped a teaser giving fans a glimpse of the horrors that are yet to come. And just like the second film of the series, the plot will center on one little doll. This time, however, things will even be worse.
The doll has indeed come home, which is why the film is aptly titled “Annabelle Comes Home.” But the doll’s new home is actually the home of famous demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Apparently, the Warrens thought that they’d be doing the whole world a great favor by keeping the doll under lock and key inside their home. The evil spirit in the doll seems to be dormant, and with the help of a priest’s holy blessing and sacred glass, the plan was to trap the evil inside the doll indefinitely.
But if there’s one thing that horror films have in common, it’s that plans to contain evil always fall apart. This time the Warrens’ plans will be unraveled by Daniela, a friend of the couple’s ten-year-old daughter, Judy.
The curious Daniela was somehow able to open the locked door and enter the room where the doll was kept, along with other artifacts. And true to her inquisitive self, she touched everything inside the room, including the sacred glass enclosure that contained the demonic doll, eventually releasing it from its constraints.
This time, though, it appears that the Warren couple will have their hands full. For some still unexplained reason, the doll started to act like a beacon, attracting other evil entities into the Warrens’ abode. This means that they’ll be dealing with not one but an entire horde of supernatural enemies in “Annabelle Comes Home.” Watch the trailer below.
For fans of the horror genre, the release of “Annabelle 3” is something to look forward to as it is predicted to be a record-setting event for the entire “Conjuring” franchise. With just a little box office success, the upcoming film is likely to catapult it to the top as the world’s biggest R-rated franchise.
At the moment, the spot is held by “The Matrix” trilogy with its combined earnings of $1.633 billion. But “The Conjuring” group of films is not too far off. In fact, “The Conjuring” franchise only needs as little as $64 million to even the rankings, an amount that “Annabelle 3” is expected to easily rake in.
