"House of Cards" Season 3 returns to Netflix on February 27. Finally, the Golden Globes award-winning series released its first official Season 3 trailer on the same weekend as the award show. As it was for Season 1 and Season 2, all episodes of "House of Cards" Season 3 are expected to be available on Netflix at the same time.
In the latest "House of Cards" trailer, we see Francis Underwood, played by actor Kevin Spacey, leaning over the President's desk at the White House. Although we have just witnessed Underwood feverishly rise the ranks from party whip to the President of the United States, we know that Season 3 will deliver the most heartracing episodes to date.
As you may recall, one of the most shocking moments in "House of Cards" Season 2 was the murder of Zoe Barnes. However, the reporter's posse including editor-boyfriend Lucas and colleague Janine are already convinced that Frank Underwood had a hand in her death. Lucas then reaches out to hacker activist Gavin Orsay to help him find enough evidence to bring Zoe justice and to bring Underwood down.
Frank Underwood's second problem is Rachel, who has killed Doug in the last episode of Season 2. We don't know what Rachel will do next, but she definitely has every motivation to remove Underwood from her life, even if that means revealing the secret of Pete Russo to authorities to put Underwood in prison.
According to Kevin Spacey in an interview with E! News, writer-producer Beau Willimon and producer David Fincher have a "desire to see just how dark that well is and how deep does it go. We have miles to go before we sleep." No doubt, the latest "House of Cards" Season 3 trailer suggests that we are at the verge of seeing Underwood's secrets unravel and his life fall apart.
Should the skeleton's in Underwood's closet really emerge, a popular theory suggests that his wife Claire may ultimately commit the unthinkable and hire a hit man to kill him. According to this theory, it would be Claire's way of protecting Francis Underwood's legacy before it collapses like a house of cards.
Stay tuned as we learn more about the upcoming season in the weeks ahead. "House of Cards" Season 3 returns to Netflix on February 27.
