If you haven’t yet given “Hostages” a chance, tonight’s your chance! The story began with the pilot episode when the family of Dr. Ellen Sanders, played by Toni Collete was taken hostage by a team led by a former FBI Special Agent, Duncan Carlisle played by Dylan McDermott. Carlisle captures the Sanders family after Ellen confirms that she will be doing surgery on the President of the United States. She is ordered by the kidnappers to assassinate the President during surgery in order to save her family. But while Duncan may same like the bad guy, there is more than meets the eye. Duncan’s motivation behind the kidnapping operations is his wife, who is sick and dying.

“Hostages” will premiere with episode 3 “Power of Persuasion” tonight and there is a lot in store for the Sanders family. The characters in the show will start to learn even more about each other, Ellen overhears Duncan on the phone with his daughter. Even though she doesn't hear much, she starts to investigate just who Duncan really is. Ellen then discovers Duncan’s sick wife in the hospital after visiting his daughter’s art fair, and now that she is discovering is true self will their relationship change? The whole assassination plot is thwarted when Ellen is told she will no longer be preforming the surgery on the President, Duncan tells her that she must convince the President otherwise.

While Duncan is preparing an assassination of his own, we discover that he, himself, is the target of another assassination apparently ordered by the Quinton. Both Duncan and Ellen really can’t catch a break, even though she manages to convince the President that she should be his surgeon, Ellen learns some devastating news. Brain admits his affair to Ellen and attempts to convince her that she should try to escape with the kids how she escaped to visit Sawyer.
