A Fox affiliate in San Francisco was punk'd and broadcasted fake names of pilots of the Asiana Flight 214. The names were offensive, racially sensitive and made light of a delicate situation.

"Sum Ting Wong," "Wi Tu Lo," "Ho Lee Fuk," and "Bang Ding Ow," were the names of the alleged pilots that KTVU anchor Tori Campbell read on air. When they realized that the names were not accurate the anchor issued an apology to the viewers blaming the incident on the National Transportation Safety Board.

"Earlier in the newscasts we gave some names of pilots involved in the Asiana Airlines crash, these names were not accurate despite an NTSB official in Washington confirming them late this morning. We apologize for this error."

Tom Raponi, KTVU/KICU Vice President & General Manager, also issued an apology, "We sincerely regret the error and took immediate action to apologize, both in the newscast where the mistake occurred, as well as on our website and social media sites. Nothing is more important to us than having the highest level of accuracy and integrity, and we are reviewing our procedures to ensure this type of error does not happen again.”
