In a case of international mistaken identity, San Francisco photographer Helena Price has been mistaken for a character on Brazil's new soap opera "Em Familia." The soap opera, which has thousands of fans, features a character named Helena who had quite an eventful week. According to Daily Mail, Helena fell in love with her cousin and almost undressed in front of her uncle.
The scandalous state of the soap opera's character led to Price's Twitter getting bombarded with fan tweets even though her Twitter description was very clear: "Tall, pale, and half-Norwegian. Full-time photographer who occasionally dabbles in tech. Not the actress, DJ, Brazilian soap opera star, or state capital." On her part, Price has been responding to the tweets even though she does not speak Portuguese.
The full-time photographer has since learned that she has vecome a viral Internet phenomenon, and a meme. One meme shows the beautiful young woman's face Photoshopped on the body of a Samba dancer. Brazilian media reported this case of mistaken identity and fans of the soap opera have started pouring adoration for the 'real-life Helena.' "I'm officially in Brazilian news for becoming a meme," tweeted Price. "Life is funny."
Life is, indeed, funny as the San Francisco native now has over 21,000 followers, a vast majority of which are Brazilian. The fans have been tweeting at the new Internet star in Brazil, asking her questions ranging from which love interest she would pick to requesting that she pose for Brazilian Playboy. "Still getting thousands and thousands and thousands of tweets. Brazil you are funny," tweeted Price.
