After Buckingham Palace reportedly helped set up a conciliatory meeting between a royal and a Black woman she had insulted, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly demanding an apology from the British Royal Family over their past experiences with the monarchy.
The Sussexes are reportedly demanding a ‘sit-down meeting,’ to be scheduled before the coronation of Harry’s father King Charles, to discuss an apology that could be issued by the Royal Family over the two’s negative experiences during their time as working royals, according to the Mirror.
Harry and Meghan, who had just released a new Netflix documentary series about their lives where they criticized the monarchy for how they had handled the situation, are reportedly demanding the meeting after the Palace had reportedly arranged a meeting between charity boss Ngozi Fulani and Lady Susan Hussey so that she could apologize for her behavior, The Sun reported.
“Nothing like that was ever done when Harry and Meghan raised various concerns — no meeting, formal apology or taking responsibility or accountability,” a source close to the pair said.
The Sussexes and some of the people documenting their lives have accused the Royal Family of mishandling their exit from the monarchy, with William allegedly “screaming and shouting” during the fraught talks and that he had bullied them out of the monarchy, alongside more claims of improper behavior from the Royals.
In the new series, after laying out what they claim were the actions taken against them by the monarchy, Harry said that he doesn’t expect them to apologize for how they handled them leaving their roles, and “to make peace with the fact we’re probably never going to get genuine accountability or a genuine apology."
Charles is reportedly open to any form of reconciliation with Harry and Meghan, so long as his son does not cross his “red line” of insulting his wife, the Queen Consort Camila. Charles and William have yet to see the new Netflix series, but sources said that they are updated on it through private reports from their aides.
