Malaga has presented Guillermo Ochoa with his blue and white jersey which he will wear for the next three seasons. The ceremony took place in the Rosaleda stadium in front of more than 2,000 people. Some fans, including several children, approached Ochoa to sign a ball and ask for autographs. Ochoa posed for photographers with Malaga's vice-president Moayad Shatat after signing his official contract.
Ochoa passed a medical exam satisfactorily. Willy Caballero's replacement, who transferred to Manchester City for eight million euros, was one of the best goalkeepers in the World Cup in Brazil. His incredible saves caused a sensation. Last season he played in the French League with Ajaccio in Corsica. He started his football career in Club America of Mexico where he debuted in the team at 18 in 2003-04 under Leo Beenhakker.
With many Mexican journalists in the press room, Moayad Shatat, executive vice president, served as master of ceremonies. He welcomed the "goal keeper Guillermo Ochoa. We all know what he did in the World Cup and we are very happy to have you with us. "Afterwards, Mario Husillos, the coach, described his move as "great news for Spain and the Spanish Liga to have a player of his class. We knew there was a lot of interest from various clubs."
