Telemundo is set to premiere a different kind of telenovela called "Guerra De Ídolos." The story revolves around the music industry and the inner workings of the business, like all the backstabbing and secret negotiations that take place. Many are comparing the musical drama series as the Latin-"Empire." Meet the cast and characters of the series below and tell us what you think!
Alberto Guerra is Mateo Solar: He is the youngest one in the family. Mateo is a very talented music producer and composer. He is explosive and passionate: he is very kind to those who are on his good side, but he can be very mean to those who are not. Therefore, when his family is attacked, he will not hesitate to unleash a war from coast to coast, regardless of the size of his enemies. Cunning, charming and womanizing, he has lived a life without love commitments, hunting down and conquering the most beautiful women, like a good instinctive hunter. But when he meets Manara, first through her voice and then physically, his life will change irreversibly, and his focus as a producer and as a man, will be on her, only her.
Marco Treviño is Moises Solar: He is the patriarch of the Solar, a manager and an idealist. Moises is a man with great goals and powerful dreams, who has dedicated to train his children, since they were very young, to succeed in the world of music, but who has never prepared to confront the gangsters that control the industry.
Carmen Beato is Celestina Solar: She is Moises’ wife. Celestina is a dedicated housewife, who constantly brings her husband down to earth. She has always kept herself out of the family business, but over time, she will have to pick one side: Isaac or Mateo.
José María "Chema" Torre is Isaac Solar: Isaac is the eldest son of the Solar family. He is a singer, keyboardist and a gambler, with an ego bigger than his talent. He aspires to become the head of the record label, and in order to accomplish it, he is willing to do anything, even going to war against his own family.
Daniel Elbittar is Julio César Solar: Julio Cesar is the star of the family, a singing legend. He is an idol with unique charisma and talent. He is Mateo’s creative partner and has always been fighting Isaac to gain leadership of the family band.
Sofía Lama is Gilda Solar: She is the only one in the family who studied and she is also her mother’s emotional support. Gilda doesn’t get along with her brother Isaac and she doesn’t agree with the way Moises, her father, manages the family business. Gilda is Mateo’s ally in the internal power struggle of the Solar family.
Viviana Serna is Belinda Guerrero: She is Julio Cesar’s girlfriend. Belinda is the typical fan who follows her idol everywhere. The difference between her and any other fan is that Belinda not only fulfilled her dream of seducing him, but also became pregnant with his child. Throughout the course of the story, she will give birth to Julio Cesar Solar’s only son, and also have a relationship with Isaac, his brother, navigating between two deep waters, to the limit of her emotions.
Esteban Soberanes is Chalino Andrade: Chalino is a quiet, helpful and loyal man, who prefers to always follow the right path. But he is also a man who won’t hesitate to pull the trigger when things go wrong. Chalino will not only be the doorman and audio operator at the record label, but he will also unconditionally have Mateo’s back in all of his initiatives, always urging him to control his impulsive temperament.
Alejandro de la Madrid is Rafael Zabala: He is a famous “Ranchera” singer, and a candidate to win Manara’s heart. He is the “heir” of the dynasty founded by his father, the great Mexican singer, Ernesto Zabala. He has the necessary talent and charisma to feel like a god, floating in the cloud of his ego, above all mortals. And he literally does that. Manara’s love will find Rafael in a critical moment of his life. For this falling idol, the love of a potential star will be an opportunity – maybe his last – to be born again, to gain independence from his paternal burden, and to shake up, not only his career, but his entire life.
Fabiola Campomanes is Itzel Paz: She is Rafael’s teenage sweetheart and the mother of two of his sons. Constantly cheated on by him, Itzel remained quiet because of money, and to protect the family’s image. But when Rafael leaves her for a younger woman, there will be no money that can stop her resentment.
Fernando Carrera is Ernesto Zabala: He is a singer, a “Ranchera” legend and a movie star. Ernesto could never tolerate seeing his son steal a bit of his fame, and raised him with that selfishness. Throughout the story, he will have to face the final stretch of his career, and will be encouraged to love a much younger woman, who will help him face a tough disease.
Alex Speitzer is Nicolás Zabala: Nicolas is Rafael’s son. He inherited the womanizing gene of the Zabala dynasty, but not the musical style. He denies the ranchera tradition and will be the great love of Julia Matamoros, Manara and Amado’s younger sister.
Eduardo Tanus is Santiago Zabala: He is a Ranchera singer; Rafael’s youngest son. He loves the tradition of Mexican music and dreams of expressing it, but his sexual preferences can be an obstacle to gain the public and private support of the genre’s major benchmark: his own grandfather.
María León is Manara Matamoros: She is a beautiful woman and talented singer. Her personality is strong and defiant in front of everyone, except Amado. With him, she is vulnerable, not only because he is her older brother and practically raised her, but because he also has the legal custody of her younger sister, Julia, who is her greatest love and weakness. Manara dreams of succeeding in the world of music to emerge from anonymity, to buy her freedom and to take her sister with her away from the world of violence and dangers that surround Amado. But when she meets Mateo, she will have a new hope, so big and powerful as her dreams of becoming a famous singer, that it will revolutionize her feelings, transforming them, sometimes into a source of inspiration, but other times a very difficult obstacle to overcome.
Juan Pablo Medina is Amado Matamoros: He was born poor and did everything he had to do to become extremely rich. He always says that “Scruples” is a Greek island. He dreams of creating the biggest Latin multimedia company in Mexico and the United States, with the purpose of using it as a platform for his political career, convinced that voters are more captivated by “entertainment” than “ideas.”
Sheryl Rubio is Julia Matamoros: Manara is her sister and role model, especially after the death of her mother. Julia is a great dancer and dreams with making it to Broadway. Her naivety and innocence will be the tools that Amado will use to manipulate her, thus seeking to control Manara’s will.
Daniela Schmidt is Agustina Osorio: Amado chose her, among several undocumented immigrants he trafficked, to be his housekeeper. Her help was invaluable when he decided to legally adopt his sisters, Manara and Julia. She is unconditional to Amado because she loves him, but also because he protects her family. But Agustina’s life will change when Amado formalizes his relationship with Selva Treviño and brings her to live in his house. The coexistence between all three of them, under one roof, will only unleash tragedies.
Adolfo Arias is Gabriel Treviño: He won the nickname “Czar of Radio” because of the large number of stations he owns and later expanded his media network to the publishing business. But this empire is just a façade to cover his arms trafficking business. He will die victim of betrayal and blinded by his own arrogance.
Erika de la Rosa is Selva Treviño: Elegant, beautiful and educated, she helps her father in the radio and publishing business, but she ignores the dark world that Gabriel manages behind his businesses. Selva had a passionate relationship with JC, but he left her when Belinda got pregnant. After the death of her father, she will inherit a media empire that will become the target of Amado Matamoros, who will not hesitate to seduce her to snatch it away and use it according to his needs.
Claudio Lafarga is Lorenzo Treviño: He is a lawyer who was at odds with Gabriel, his father. When Gabriel dies, Lorenzo will inherit his hatred and will take care of the family dirty business, with the purpose of keeping his sister, Selva, away from his father’s violent and brutal past.
Alex Brizuela is Bianco: He is an international pop star. Although many people doubt his sexual orientation, Bianco is an unquestionable “sex symbol” for women of all ages and from all over the continent. With a dazzling smile, this sensual and radiant singer will light the way for Manara’s path to stardom. However, she will end up becoming a lifesaver that will help him keep his lucrative womanizer fame afloat.
Alex Garza is Leticia Bravo: She is a voluptuous and attractive Singer. Leticia has had few opportunities in life, but a strong drive to succeed in the world of music. She has worked for years as a waitress in an underground casino in Houston, where she meets Isaac Solar. Leticia will have an intense relationship with him, clinging to the promise that, some day, he will help her become a famous artist. Over time, Leticia will feel Isaac let her down, and she will begin to shamelessly make her own way, until she reaches the nucleus of the Zabala family.
Vince Miranda is Valentín Vargas: He is a corridos singer and ex-convict. Valentin and his cousins “Basico” and Rafael grew up together in one the poorest areas of the border and always dreamed of being musicians. They will all gamble their lives to help Mateo in a very difficult mission, and in return, will receive his help to succeed in the, sometimes dangerous, world of music.
Fabian Pazzo is Básico: He is a talented and versatile musician. Basico is burly and has a great sense of humor. He is always ready to act, willfully or not. Like his cousins, whom he loves as brothers, he dreams of making a living as a musician. With the drive to succeed, Basico, Valentin and Rafael will travel from Nuevo Laredo to Los Angeles along with Mateo Solar, and they will manage to make their way into the market for corridos by way of talent and bullets.
Pedro Capo is Dylan Rodríguez: He is a talented urban music singer and producer. Dylan is part of the group that moves from New Jersey to Los Angeles with Mateo. Unlike Diego, he defends his close friends fiercely. Thankful for the opportunity that Mateo Solar gives him to build his artistic career in LA, Dylan will support him in the good times… and also the very bad times.
Luis Figueroa is Diego Santillán: He is an urban music singer. He left his native island, along with his friend and associate, Cristian, seeking new horizons, escaping the violence of the smuggling business, and the hamlet life. They took refuge in New York and are urban artists from the east coast, but will travel west to join the family of musicians from the Solar record label, with their bling-bling, and also with their AK-47, in case they are needed.
Christian Pagan is Cristian León: He is an urban music singer. Cristian is part of Mateo’s group of friends that play urban music and live in New Jersey. However, when he realizes that the road to fame is increasingly uphill, he will turn his back on his friends to join Rafael Zabala, believing this is the opportunity he needs.
Tata Ariza is Gisela: Gisela is a Regional Mexican pop singer. She began her career as a duo with Lila, but they eventually broke up, not because of musical taste, but because of their personalities. Forward and unscrupulous, she will become involved with Alexis to gain fame. Under his instructions, she becomes romantically involved with the Mayor of Tijuana.
Evelyn Cedeño is Lila: She is a Regional Mexican pop Singer. Lila begins her career as a duo with Gisela, but they will grow apart by way of values and principles. Lila dreams of being a singer, not of being famous. She will have a romance with Mateo and then will undertake an upward path that will take her to stardom.
Patricia Bermudez is Sabrina: Sabrina is a percussionist and an urban music singer. She plays in Nicolas’ band and has an informal relationship with him. When Julia appears on the horizon, becoming a threat, Sabrina will embark on war against her, manipulating not only Nicolas, but also public opinion through social media.
Edison Ruiz is Alexis Garza: His voice is a trademark of the Treviño radio stations, and his name is in the list of the most important radio hosts in the industry. In front of the media, Alexis is a charismatic man with a bright personality. But backstage he is an elusive operator who charges payola under the table, and takes advantage of anyone he can, in order to climb the ladder. He will be a key ally for Amado Matamoros to conquer the power of media in his political campaign.
Maria Adelaida Puerta is Bárbara Montoya: Barbara has a strong gaze, but a delicate and extravagant image, despite her curves. On one hand, she manages portfolios in the global stock market from her office in Mexico City; and on the other, she is the head of a money laundering network worldwide. Beautiful and dangerous, Barbara is cold blooded and calculating. She is not afraid of anything and won’t surrender to anyone. Through Davis, she will meet Mateo Solar, with whom she will establish a business partnership and a personal relationship that will go far beyond the production of corridos.
Alejandra Müller is Azul Montoya: She is Barbara’s daughter. Azul is a talented singer and dancer, but also inexperienced. She is the apple of her mother’s eye and her greatest weakness. However, Fierro will go into conflict with his boss, when Amado enters politics and decides to change his profile, trying to eliminate anyone who knows details of his past.
Pamela Almaza is Guillermina Sanders: Guillermina is a talented and passionate investigative journalist and a fierce advocate of professional ethics. However, at the personal level, she will have a relationship with Isaac Solar that will go against her principles. At the beginning of the story, she is recognized TV reporter; but when she meets Lorenzo, she will begin to work behind the scenes as Director of Editorial Treviño, where she devotes to writing Amado Matamoros’ first authorized biography. Guillermina is an example of journalists who seek truth and justice, but who not always end well.
Aaron Bladeri is Lucho Lacalle: He is a well-known entertainment journalist, famous for his scandalous tone. Lucho’s earnings from his job at the magazine and from his TV show are not enough. He also profits from the private lives of artists, extorting those who don’t pay him a monthly fee, with confidential (and harmful) information he possesses.
