'GTA 5' 1.17 Update Release Date: Rockstar Responds To Angry GTA Online Gamers [REPORT]

We first reported "GTA 5" 1.17 update release date news on Sept. 18. A scheduled server maintenance for GTA Online suggested that Rockstar Games is preparing for a major update for the game. Next, a "GTA 5" tipster leaked a significant Xbox Live source code that revealed some more details on the upcoming DLC. Finally, a second server maintenance was performed earlier this week, further fueling rumors of an imminent 1.17 update. Unfortunately, it is clear that the "GTA 5" 1.17 update will not arrive for the month of September.

According to "GTA 5" tipster and YouTuber DomisLive, this is the first time Rockstar Games has missed a month of DLC since January. According to GTA.wikia.com, Rockstar never missed a major update since April. Either way, Rockstar has not disappointed its fans in a very long time.

Back in mid-August, we've reported that delays to "GTA 5" updates were in part caused by modders that are exploiting money glitches and Rockstar's desperate effort to patch the bugs. However, modders have only become more brazen and have created even more infections and glitches to wreak havoc on GTA Online.

There is a possibility that Rockstar Games could be racing to patch the game before releasing the "GTA 5" 1.17 update or the Heists DLC. However, if this is the case, then the efforts may be fruitless as the two server maintenance procedures this month did nothing to fix the infections.

No doubt, fans of GTA Online are growing impatient and upset with every day that passes without any word of an upcoming "GTA 5" 1.17 release date. Twitter user @jsadle asked @RockstarGames earlier today: "@RockstarGames can you make an announcement about the next DLC please and thank you."
