Grupo Frontera has been making major headlines lately, making their Coachella debut with Bad Bunny on April 21 to perform their hit "un x100to".
The song puts a Mexican twist on cumbia, similar to the music of Mexican Band Bronco and Tejano star Selena.
The song surged to No. 1 earlier this month on Spotify's 50 global chart and No.3 on Hot Latin Songs.
The band has blown up even more so in the Rio Grande Valley, where they originated in McAllen, TX. The group consists of Beto, Juan Javier Cantu, Carlos Frontera, Payo, Julián Peña Jr., and Carlos Zamora.
What was only supposed to be a hobby to pass time by with friends, became a YouTube blow up as they uploaded covers and made a name for themselves.
Earlier last week the grupo won their first Latin American Music Award for their solo hit "No Se Va", making it their first big award win. Grupo Frontera has become one of the most popular up and coming bands at this moment, even more so after their Bad Bunny collab, making waves not just in Mexico but in other Latin-American countries as well.
Last week the song landed at the top 10 at No.5 on the Billboards Global 200, being the first top 10 for the group.
