"Grimm" Season 3 premieres tonight on NBC and picks up where the previous season left off. Season 2 ended in a major cliffhanger when Nick (David Giuntoli) was investigating a series of rage-fueled assaults. Nick soon learns that Captain Sean Renard's (Sasha Roiz) half brother, Eric Renard (James Frain), is in town. When Nick confronts the Baron, Nick falls into a trap resulting in his own zombie-like coma. After being hit with a toxic slime that leaves him paralyzed, our hero seems to have died. We last see Nick in a coffin, being shipped to Europe.

In the premiere episode titled "The Ungrateful Dead," Nick is still trapped in a box while his friends fend off zombies. "A panicked Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), and Rosalee (Bree Turner) enlist Hank’s (Russell Hornsby) help in fending off a zombie hoard while trying to figure out what happened to Nick (David Giuntoli)," says the official description of the NBC drama. "Knowing the truth, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) takes measures to help rescue Nick from the clutches of his brother, Eric. Elsewhere, along with the help of the mysterious Stefania (Shohreh Aghdashloo), Adalind (Claire Coffee) finds herself facing her most gruesome task yet in her effort to regain her Hexenbiest abilities."

"Grimm" is a supernatural procedural drama series that made its debut in 2011 in which characters that appear are inspired by Grimm's Fairy Tales. Homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt learns he is a descendant from a line of guardians known as Grimms. These guards keep a balance between humanity and the mythological creatures of the world called Wesen. Most of the episodes are loosely based on the stories written by The Brothers Grimm, but they have based some episodes on other legends like "La Llorona." The Latin foltkale about a weeping woman crying for her children had Kate del Castillo as a guest star during the second season. "Grimm" season 3 premieres tonight at 9pm ET/PT on NBC.
