The countdown to the 2014 Grammy Awards has started and the biggest night in music is set to commence. Before the main event, the music acts have to make their way down the red carpet to show off their fashion. The best aspect of this award show is that there are no fashion rules which makes it a fun arrivals ceremony. What we will see our stars wearing tonight is up in the air and you will be able to watch them as they come in live. The 56th Annual Grammy Awards is set to be hosted by LL Cool J, live from the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles. The show will bring in the biggest talent in the world for a three-hour plus spectacle that is sure to include a lot of surprises and mixups. Grammy's is the place where performers unite to create an experience like no other, this year set to take the stage is a mash-up that includes Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams, Stevie Wonder and Nile Rodgers. Other performers to expect are Lorde, the 17-year-old "Royals" hitmaker, Metallica singing withLang Lang, Gary Clark Jr. and a possible union of Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé. Madonna has also been tapped to perform on the Grammy's stage after teasing fans on Instagram this week. Also scheduled to perform are Trombone Shorty, rapper Juicy J and Billie Joe Armstrong and Miranda Lambert in a tribute to Phil Everly.
In a special ceremony leading up to the Grammy's, Carole King was award the Person of the Year Award. The event set to be held this Friday (Jan. 24) will feature a star-studded cast paying tribute to the legendary vocalist. Lady Gaga, Gloria Estefan, Steven Tyler, Alicia Keys, Better Midler, James Taylor and more are set for the homage. Mexican duo Jesse & Joy will also be at the event performing one of King's pieces. "We are more than honored to be a part of this special night that commemorates the career of Carol King," Jesse and Joy said in a statement. "Our dad was Mexican and our mom is from Wisconsin and we thank her so much because a big part of our music influence was the music she played to us when we were kids and 'Tapestry' was played almost every day at home. So, for us being a part of this night is a career highlight in many ways."
