The online modes for multiplayer have found a faithful following since then and now it has been reported that Ascension has a new multiplayer function and a set of new maps.
The new multiplayer mode is called Bout of Honor and will be included in update 1.09. Bout of Honor is virtually a fighting game within Ascension. It's a 1-on-1 mode that pits two online players against each other in a best-of-seven battle to the death.

In this mode it is reported that matches have no help items available at all. So no fountains, chest or random weapons. Also magic is scarce and relics are disabled.
The new multiplayer mode totes four brand new maps specifically catered to this mode. The maps are called Canyon of Kirra, Chamber of the Flame, Landing at Delos and Street of Sparta.
