"Boy Meets World" creator Michael Jacobs will be helming the long-awaited Disney Channel spinoff "Girl Meets World," which began filming this month. It will star familiar "Boy" stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel as Cory and Topanga Matthews.
"Girl Meets World" will introduce us to the Matthews' two children, daughter Riley and son Elliott. They will be played by Rowan Blanchard and Teo Halm respectively. Blanchard recently tweeted about two special guests to the new show's set: none other than Rider Strong and Will Friedle who played Cory's childhood friends Shawn and Eric.
Unfortunately, fans can only expect a possible guest role for the two: "At this point, I have no official involvement," Strong said.
There no word on whether viewers will see William Daniels' Mr. Feeny character making a cameo. The original series of course aired from 1993-2000 on ABC's "TGIF" Friday night block.
