Gina Rodriguez has just won the Internet for her kind gesture with a fan. In January, Rodriguez made headlines for offering the black dress she wore at the 2015 Golden Globes to a fan named Jessica Casanova who reached out to her on Twitter. Four months later, she makes headlines once again for keeping her promise.
Rodriguez's black Badgley Mischka gown finally made it to the hands of the lucky fan from Buffalo, New York who flaunted the gorgeous dress on her prom night in May.
"It feels really good," Casanova told Entertainment Tonight. "It fits like a glove!"
Casanova initially requested to borrow the midnight blue Zac Posen gown Gina wore at the 2016 Golden Globes, but Rodriguez only had the black dress at hand. This is also the gown she nabbed her first-ever globe for Best Actress in a Television Series -- Comedy or Musical.
"I tweeted to her after watching the Golden Globes and I said to her, 'I so wish I could wear your Golden Globes dress to prom,'" recalled the 17-year-old high school student to ET. "I would say maybe in an hour or an hour and a half she replied and said, 'Maybe we can make this happen.' From there it started to roll."
Casanova also received a special video message from the "Jane the Virgin" actress on her special night. "Just know I love you. I'm so proud of you. I'm so excited for you," Gina told the senior. "You look beautiful and everybody will remember it -- especially you!"
Following Jessica's prom, the dress will make its way back to Gina, who promised to pass it on to other high school girls. "I hope whoever gets it next, it goes in the right hands, because it's something close to her heart and it means a lot to her. I just hope it gets taken care of really well like the way I am," Casanova told ET.
Casanova also expressed how grateful she is with the Puerto Rican star's kind act. "l have no words, no other celebrity can compare to what she has done," she stated. "She deserves everything in this entire world."
