Gibran Martiz, who was a contestant of "La Voz México 3," has been found dead in Veracruz after he was reported missing on January 7. The body of Martiz and an unnamed underage victim were found Saturday night after police received reports of a shooting on the Huatusco-Conejos highway. When authorities arrived at the scene two vehicles were spotted and resisted to be inspected and that's when they started firing back. After police took control over the situation they examined the place and found the bodies of Martiz and the other victims.
Martiz had just finished his stint on the Mexican version of the reality show "The Voice" where he was mentored by Wisin y Yandel. "Our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Gibran," the duo posted on their joint Twitter account. "We will miss you brother. May God have you in his glory." Yandel went on to further post on his personal account the following, "What devastating news... May you rest in peace Gibran Martiz."
Gibran Martiz was kidnapped right out of his residence in Veracruz by people in police officers uniforms. They struggled to take him and forced him inside the patrol and the family didn't know of his whereabouts. Members of the family filed a report with authorities and they claimed to not know what was going on, which gave them the hint that those "police officers" were not real. Gibran's brother soon posted an image on his Facebook page of the alleged unit he was taken in. This is the patrol unit and its number (20-1178) in which my brother Gibran Martiz was taken away, and we still know nothing,” he wrote.
