Gemma Atkinson Says What It Was Like To Date Cristiano Ronaldo

Gemma Atkinson shared what it was like to date Manchester United legendary striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Radio presenter and actress Atkinson revealed on Manchester's Key 103 radio, that one time when she and Ronaldo went to her house to drink cups of tea and watch "Only Fools And Horses."

"Genuinely!" she said. "I don't know if he's into it now but he seemed to enjoy it." Atkinson continued, "With Cristiano it was mad, because everywhere he went he was followed by photographers." Atkinson also admitted that she turned down massive fees for talking about her romantic relationship with the 37-year-old iconic footballer, who garnered an estimated net worth of more than £350 ($427) million and has about 460 million followers on Instagram. "When we did split up, I got offered so much money to speak about him. And I didn't want that," she said.

The former couple first met shortly after she wrapped up "Hollyoaks," where she played the character of Lise Hunter. Atkinson was involved with Ronaldo during his first stint at Man Utd in 2007. Despite being considered one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, Atkinson revealed that some of her dates with Ronaldo were remarkably laid-back.

The 37-year-old model was previously engaged to former Brentford and Everton footballer Marcus Bent in 2008 and "Britain's Got Talent" star Liam Richards in 2013. Currently, she is supposed to marry the 31-year-old dancer Gorka Marquez after they met on "Strictly Come Dancing" in 2017. They share a daughter, Mia, who was born in July 2019.

Marquez and Atkinson were forced to postpone the wedding because of the strict Covid-19 measures in Spain, where Marquez's family live. Atkinson talked about her excellent relationship with Marquez. "Obviously it was horrendous for some people, but we just said, 'Look, it is what it is. We're not going to get this time back. Let's embrace it." She added, "Normally with us juggling our work one of us will look after Mia and one of us will walk the dogs for example, but during lockdown we could do things as a family. We had a lovely weather too which was great. Before lockdown we always had to juggle things. We won't have that back so we tried to make the most of it."

Meanwhile, Ronaldo also found his love, settling happily with long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez. He is also a father of five children.
