"Game of Thrones" is still months away from premiering but that hasn't stopped the speculations and leaks from helping us put together a plotline and even identifying some new players in the sixth season.
Back in May it was reported that a beautiful and magnetic priestess would be joining the show, then later a leaked audition tape provided more background on the character including the name "Kinvara." It was also confirmed that she was a High Priestess of the Red God, one who serves the Lord of Light reports Watchers on the Wall.
Now an extensive report from Los Siete Reinos shows us our first look at Melanie Liburd's as "Kinvara." The report brings us photos from the set in Peñíscola, Spain where we see Liburd standing on a podium addressing a crowd of people. The actress is reportedly performing a scene as a "Kinvara" the red priestess, confirming her role in season six.
Meanwhile, a new castmate has been announced for the coming season. Previously, we seen the addition of Richard E. Grant and earlier this year legendary actor Ian McShane joined season six. Now, according to Deadline, Joe Naufahu has also signed on for a recurring role in season six of "Game of Thrones."
Naufahu is best known for his role in the Starz series "Spartacus: War of the Damned," where he played the Liscus in a number of episodes.
While we know Naufahu will be in multiple episodes, we don't quite know his role yet but many speculate that he will play a Dothraki due to his previous roles as a muscule bruiser type reports Independent.
Furthermore, Screen Rant has pulled out two old casting calls which could fit Naufahu as well. Check them out below:
- Qhogo and Akrat: They’re seeking mixed ethnicity or other non-white actors for the roles. The successful young warriors need to be tall, confident, with swagger and linguistic bravado. It’s noted that the actors will have to speak in a fictional language. I think it’s safe to say that these are Dothraki.
- Fierce Warrior: A tall man in 30’s or 40’s with a powerful physique. They’re looking for someone with “mixed ethnicity” for the role.
"Game of Thrones" will return to HBO in Spring 2016.
