Season 4 of “Game of Thrones” is half way done, but before you grab your tissues to mourn, you may want to take a seat because the Season 4 finale will be even more shocking than the entire season put together. That’s right, it may be impossible, but finale episode of Season 4 will leave fans in shock and awe, similar to Season 3’s “Rains of Castamere,” which featured the now infamous “Red Wedding.” The synopsis for the Season 4 finale episode, which is titled “The Children,” was recently released by HBO and it provides fans with a better idea of what to expect for the end of the already high-energy season. The synopsis reads, "Circumstances change after an unexpected arrival from north of the Wall; Dany must face harsh realities; Bran learns more about his destiny; Tyrion sees the truth about his situation."
“The unexpected arrival” from North of the Wall will most likely be the White Walkers growing army; fans already know that the preceding episode, “The Watchers on the Wall” will most likely focus on the Wildlings invasion on Castle Black. So it seems like the action up North and on The Wall will only continue in the Season 4 finale. The title “The Children” seems to be symbolic for the entire unfolding action in the episode, most likely paying homage to the White Walkers transformation of Craster’s sons into undead Others.
As for the “harsh realities” that Daenerys is set to face, will be the same plight faced by others in the Targaryen dynasty. Despite being the Mother of Dragons, and ruling Queen of Meereen, her “children” will get completely out of control and their killing will escalate from lambs to children, prompting Daenerys to cage her dragon. However, her largest and seemingly most loyal dragon, Drogon, will evade his mother and her Unsullied and continue to torment Essos.
Brandon Stark, of course we know that the young Stark does not have children, but he will meet some North of the Wall that will teach him more about his green-seeing destiny. Bran, Meera and Jojen will encounter the Children of the Forest. The Children are a still somewhat mysterious, non-human race that are said to be the original inhabitants of the continent of Westeros.
The last teaser that the Season 4 finale synopsis provides is about Tyrion post his impending trial by battle. The synopsis reads, “Tyrion sees the truth about his situation." The truth that the synopsis hints at is a sad story, revealed by none other than his brother Jamie Lannister. Long before Shea, Tyrion had another relationship, her name was Tysha and she was his first true love. Tyrion met Tysha on a lonely road, she was being accosted by a group of men, Jamie drove off the men and Tyrion confronted her. He fell deeply n love with her and married her. However, Tywin Lannister was dismayed by his son’s marriage, and insisted that Jamie lie to his younger brother and “expose” Tysha as a whore, who was merely playing the young imp.
George R.R. Martin’s “A Game of Thrones” reveals that Tywin passed the young girl among his guards to have sex with her; for each guard, he gave her silver. To drive the lesson home, Tywin forced his son to be the last man, for whom Tysha was paid a gold coin, because Lannisters were worth more. Following the trial, Jamie reveals the truth about Tysha, Tyrion’s first wife and one true love. Jamie tells his younger brother, that Tysha was not a whore; instead he finally admits the truth that Tywin instructed him to lie, but that Tysha “was what she seemed to be.” After learning this Tyrion will most likely confront his father, to seek the truth from him, but like every interaction between Tyrion and his father, Tywin, it will not have a happy ending. Well, not for Tywin, because after revealing the truth regarding Tysha, Tyrion finally gets his revenge and kills his father by shooting him with a cross bow.
