Even though Season 4 of "Game of Thrones" is still over a year till release, filming is officially underway. With production steadily moving, new casting reports have been leaked and some of them are surprising. We will see at least three new faces in this phase of the game, two of them being main characters in the Daenerys Targaryen's story.

When Ed Skrein joined "Game of Thrones" as Daario Naharis in Season 3, his reception was mixed, at best. Most loyal fans of George R.R. Martin's seven-book series were a bit confused by the casting with Skrein lacing any of Daario's characteristic traits. Daario is first introduced in "A Storm of Swords," when he becomes captain of the mercenary company, the Stormcrows after beheading his two superior officers. And while the audience watched as this part of Daario's character was portrayed in the HBO series, his appearance and personality was the main issue. Daario is a Tyroshi, and adheres to their flamboyant style, in GRRM's series "he keeps his beard cut in three prongs, all dyed blue. His eyes are blue and his curly hair is dyed blue. His mustachios are painted gold and he has a large, curving nose. He is lithe, smooth skinned, has a golden tooth and dresses in loud colors and finery. He wears a Dothraki arakh on his left hip and a Myrish dagger on his right hip. Their hilts are a matched pair of naked women made in gold."

Now Daario will be played by Michieal Huisman. Huisman is best known for his role of Sonny on the HBO series "Treme." While I certainly didn't love Daario's character in Season 3, I'm not entirely sure it was because of Skrein's acting. It was mostly, because as a devout reader of "A Song of Fire and Ice", I was confused who Daairo was, considering his total lack of Tyroshi appearance. The relationship between Daario and Dany was completely altered, along with his appearance, however for as much as I love Weiss and Benioff on-screen adaptions, I have noticed significant changes in Dany's plot. I am apprehensive to such a major casting change, while I don't think it was the correct original casting, I'm sure a bait and switch with actors will help. I think Dany's story line overall has been a bit too manipulated to meet demands of fans to see Emilia Clarke on the screen, her story a long journey that unfortunately has not been given the appropriate amount of time to develop on screen. Despite my nerves in watching Season 4 of "Game of Thrones," I do hope that Huisman adopts more of Daario's signature style.

Another recasting is taking place for Season 4 of "Game of Thrones" however this one is certainly more minor. Sir Gregor Clegane, who is best known by his nick-name "The Mountain" will be played by Icelandic strongman Hafþór "Thor" Björnsson. The role of Clegane has been played by two other actors, in the Season 1, Clegane was played by Conan Stevens in the episode, "Cripples, Bastard, and Broken Things," then in Season 2 Clegane was portrayed by Ian Whyte. As the role of Clegane becomes more significant hopefully HBO has found the perfect actor to portray the ruthless "Mountain." Surprisingly Björnsson has no acting experience, however at 6'9", I have a feeling his imposing physical frame will make enough of an impact on screen.

With the last bit of casting news, it seems Brown Ben Plumm will be making his way to HBO's world of Westeros. Plumm is the commander of the mercenary company, the Second Sons, he also sits on Dany's war council in "A Strom of Swords." GRRM describes Plumm as "an older man," who is tall and still fit. He has a broad face with large, dark, almond-shaped Dothraki eyes that he inherited from his mother, brown skin touched with wrinkles, a broken nose and grey/white hair. He will be played by actor Hoji Fortuna, who has taken to social media to discuss a visit to King's Landing! he is best known for his role in "Viva Riva."
