In this case, the phrase "Zach Galifianakis Homeless Woman" is not a reference to some insane circumstance that the eccentric Alan Garner of the "Hangover" series got himself into. The actor himself, Zach Galifianakis is the one who has in this case changed a homeless woman's life: in a good way.

Elizabeth "Mimi" Haist used to volunteer at the same Laundromat that Galifianakis frequented when he was a fledgling actor in the mid-1990s. Reportedly, the tips that Mimi Haist received from her work at the Fox Laundromat were her main source of income at that time.

Eventually, Galifianakis stopped appearing at the Laundromat and soonafter, Haist was unable to make ends meet through the tips she received and became homeless. Galifianakis, 43, later found out that the woman that greeted him every time he did his laundry had fallen on hard times. So, he purchased a one bedroom apartment for Haist in Santa Monica, Calif., after tracking her down to give her the news. Galifianakis' friend and actress Renee Zellweger reportedly keeps Mimi's fridge stocked for the short 87-year-old.

Haist has been seen with the North Carolina native at the previous premieres of "The Campaign" and "The Hangover Part II". On Monday, confused paparazzi and red carpet journalists could not figure out who the senior citizen at Galifianakis' arm was, as she again attended a premiere with him. "It's fun; not something I've ever dreamed I'd experience," Haist said of attending premieres like "The Hangover Part III".
